The founder of HWD for 28 years had long thick luscious hair. Just after her 28th birthday she was diagnosed with cancer and as a result was required to have her thyroid removed. Whilst relieved that she did not have to endure the consequential hair loss of chemotherapy she was not prepared for the life-long side effects of losing her thyroid. Her hair became limb, thin, weak and brittle. 

 

Due to the frustration of the ends of brittle ends snapping and clumps of hair building up in her hairbrush she made the heart-breaking decision to cut her long hair to start again. 15 inches of hair all gone in the matter of minutes.
 

Returning to where it all started, she rediscovered the traditional hair care rituals of her Punjabi heritage, where her mother had regularly oiled and deeply conditioned her hair throughout her childhood and youth. On her search for a ‘holy grail’ the damsel in distress noticed that many of the haircare products on the market are generalised, addressing non-specific hair issues and do not appreciate that no two people are the same. 
 

With that came HWD. 
 

With a passion for natural ingredients, ayurveda and with years of research and experimentation, our founder has developed the perfect range of carrier oils, herbal oils and essential oils that can be combined to create perfect Mane Blend for everyone. Each formulation is created individually following a thorough consultation, ensuring that you receive a product perfectly suited to your hair type and desired outcomes.
